Returns and Refunds

BAD-CITIZEN Returns & Refunds Policy

At BAD-CITIZEN, every garment is produced specifically for you after your order is placed. To reduce waste and overproduction, many of our clothing products are manufactured and fulfilled by our trusted production partner, Tapstitch.

 

Please read this policy carefully before placing your order.

Made-to-Order Products

As our clothing is made to order, we do not hold large quantities of stock.

For this reason, we cannot normally accept returns or exchanges for:

  • Change of mind

  • Ordering the wrong size

  • Ordering the wrong colour

  • No longer wanting the item

  • Buyer preference after production has begun

Please use the size guide provided on each product page before placing your order.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives:

  • damaged in transit

  • with a manufacturing defect

  • misprinted

  • incorrect due to our or our fulfilment partner's error

  • substantially different from the item ordered

please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order to help us investigate and resolve the issue promptly with our fulfilment partner. Claims submitted promptly are generally processed more efficiently.

  • clear photographs showing the issue

  • photographs of the packaging where relevant

  • a brief description of the problem

We may request additional information where necessary.

Return & Refund Requests

You may submit a return or refund request for eligible orders within 180 days of delivery. However, claims relating to damaged, defective, misprinted or lost orders should be reported within 7 days of delivery (or the estimated delivery date for lost parcels) so they can be investigated effectively with our fulfilment partner.

Approved Returns

Do not send any items back without first contacting us.

If your return is approved, we will provide instructions and the correct return address where a return is required. Returns sent without prior authorisation may not be accepted.

Condition of Returned Items

Unless an item is faulty or incorrectly produced, returned products must be:

  • unworn

  • unused

  • unwashed

  • in their original condition

We cannot accept products that have been:

  • worn

  • stained

  • altered

  • damaged through misuse

  • washed after delivery

 

Original Artwork & Limited Edition Prints

Original paintings, hand-finished works and limited edition prints are carefully inspected before dispatch. Due to their unique nature, these items cannot normally be returned unless they:

  • arrive damaged

  • are faulty

  • are not as described

If artwork arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include photographs of:

  • the artwork

  • all packaging

  • the shipping label

Lost Packages

If your tracking shows unusual delays or your package appears to be lost, please contact us as soon as possible. Claims for parcels believed to be lost should ideally be reported within 7 days of the estimated delivery date so that we can begin an investigation with the carrier and our fulfilment partner.

Incorrect Delivery Information

Please check your delivery details carefully before completing your order.

We cannot accept responsibility for deliveries affected by incorrect or incomplete address information supplied during checkout. Where an order is returned because of an incorrect address, additional shipping charges may apply before it can be resent.

Order Cancellations

Because production begins shortly after an order is placed, cancellation requests can only be accepted before production starts. If manufacturing has already begun, we may be unable to cancel your order.

Refunds

If a refund is approved:

  • it will be issued to your original payment method

  • refunds are processed in the original purchase currency

  • your bank or payment provider may take additional time to complete the transaction

Return Shipping

Where a return is required for reasons other than a manufacturing fault or fulfilment error, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise agreed.

Items Not Eligible for Return

Unless faulty or required by law, we cannot accept returns for:

  • made-to-order clothing

  • personalised or customised products

  • gift cards

  • digital products

  • products damaged through misuse

  • products accurately produced from the order submitted but no longer wanted

  • orders affected by incorrect customer information, including delivery address details

Our Quality Promise

We take great pride in every BAD-CITIZEN product. If something has gone wrong during manufacturing or fulfilment, we will work with our fulfilment partner to put it right through an appropriate replacement, repair or refund.

Your Consumer Rights

This Returns & Refunds Policy is provided in addition to your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

Where there is any conflict between this policy and your statutory rights, your statutory rights will prevail.
